LiRi Experts Lead Text Analysis Workshop at FH Graubünden

FH Graubünden hosts an advanced text analysis workshop with LiRi experts on March 14-15, 2024, enhancing skills in computational linguistics and data processing.

FH Graubünden is hosting a pivotal workshop on automatic text analysis on the 14th and 15th of March, 2024, showcasing the depth of computational linguistics. From 09:00 to 16:00, this workshop, led by scholars from the Linguistics Research Institute (LiRi), delves into practical methodologies for text data processing.
Led by Prof. Dr. Gerold Schneider and Dr. Johannes Graën, the workshop navigates through practical research examples, employing both R and Python tools. Participants, having submitted their research datasets in advance, find the sessions tailored to their interests, fostering a rich, hands-on learning environment. This approach not only illuminates the capabilities of automatic content analysis but also addresses its challenges and limitations.
The program pans a broad spectrum of topics from preprocessing to Named Entity Recognition (NER), document classification, and unsupervised techniques like Topic Modelling. It further touches on the latest in large language models (LLMs) such as BERT and GPT-x, fostering a dialogue on their ethical use and real-world applications.
