New Research Support Services at LiRI

LiRI Expands Support Services with fMRI and Participant Recruitment

LiRI already offers state-of-the-art facilities and support for researchers working in speech production, perceptual processes, and the cognitive underpinnings of language. As part of our ongoing efforts to meet the needs of researchers everywhere, we are excited to announce the launch of our new fMRI support service.

Many research groups aim to start neuroimaging projects but often face substantial barriers, including the need to ‘up-skill’ their teams in fMRI methodology, logistics, facility hiring, ethical approval, data analysis, and collection. To address these challenges, LiRI now provides comprehensive support for all stages of this process. This includes leveraging our collaborative ties with state-of-the-art 3T and 7T MRI scanners in Zurich, equipped with MR-compatible noise-cancellation hardware for precise auditory stimuli presentation.

This new service allows research groups to overcome initial experience barriers when starting fMRI projects and offers training to enable independent project management without the need for substantial hiring costs.

Moreover, our cognitive neuroscience consultant has over a decade of auditory perception research experience, with particular focus on fundamental psychoacoustics, speech-in-noise, paralinguistic encoding/decoding, and socioaffective communication  and can offer support for the following areas: experimental design,  functional MRI analysis, psychoacoustics/acoustics analyses, general signal processing  and more.

In addition, LiRI now offers support for participant recruitment across various age groups, from infants to older adults, as well as specialized populations. If you need assistance in finding the right participants for your study, follow the link to see how we can help.
