LiRI is happy to announce its support for UZH's Open Science initiative, Data Protection Week, taking place at UZH from Wednesday, January 22, to Friday, January 24, 2025. The input lectures will be offered in a hybrid format, interactive workshops in person on-site. All events will take place in English.
As a technology platform dedicated to supporting scientists throughout every stage of a research project's lifecycle, LiRI aligns with UZH's Open Science policies by promoting ethical and FAIR principles in linguistic research, fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration in handling sensitive data, and encouraging responsible data management.
Researchers across disciplines will benefit from tailored sessions, whether you're handling textual, video, or neuroimaging data, or working on anonymization techniques like Statistical Disclosure Control. A series of hands-on workshops will guide you through real-world scenarios, including anonymizing mobility data (GPS) and applying anonymization strategies to textual data.
Andrew Clark, acting as a Data Steward and a contact point for researchers within LiRI and the broader linguistics community, is a member of the organizing committee for Data Protection Week. He will also share his expertise in a hands-on session on data curation scheduled for Friday, January 24. On the same day, participants are warmly invited to attend the LiRI/NCCR Friday Lunchtime Meeting on Data Security, which is part of the program.
