Alessandro De Luca is a data scientist currently working on the SNSF project «Indexical dynamics of speech», lead by Prof. Dr. Volker Dellwo. He explores the dynamic nature of human speech through the use of large neural network embeddings models and high-dimension geometry. Alessandro joined LiRI in May 2022 after completing his MSc in Animal Behaviour at the Institute of Evolutionary Biology of the University of Zurich. He has a background in bioacoustics, digital signal processing, and data analysis, with a MSc thesis on the comparison of machine learning algorithms in a meerkat vocal identification task.
Alessandro’s publication can be found through his OrcID,while his research code can be found at his GitLab. He also provides some of his Python, R, and Praat scripts here.
