Webinar Announcement: Anonymization of Video and Audio Data Case Study

Upcoming Clarin-CH webinar on  the complexities of anonymizing video and audio data, focusing on legal and technical strategies for sensitive linguistic data management with expert Thomas Schmidt.

Join us for an insightful webinar titled "Case Study on Anonymization of Video and Audio Data," organized by the CLARIN-CH Working Group, which focuses on the Management of Sensitive and Personal Data, as well as Ethical and Legal Issues in Linguistic Data.

Speaker: Thomas Schmidt, an expert in spoken language corpora, corpus technology, and computational lexicography, will lead the session. With a rich academic background from universities across Europe and a decade of experience as the head of the Archive for Spoken German, Schmidt now offers his expertise as an independent consultant and software developer at LinguisticBits.

Overview: Drawing on over 20 years of experience, Schmidt will explore the management of sensitive and personal data in spoken language corpora. The webinar will begin with an overview of the legal and organizational frameworks relevant to this field. It will then delve into specific case studies from the Archive of Spoken German, discussing legal agreements and the technical aspects of data protection, including the de-identification of sensitive information in audio, video, and transcripts.

Format: After a 30-minute presentation, there will be a Q&A session where attendees can engage directly with the speaker and further discuss the topic.
