Horizon - Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Awarded to Phonetics and Speech Sciences Group at UZH

The Phonetics and Speech Sciences Group at UZH celebrates the approval of their Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network project Voice Communication Sciences , set to forge interdisciplinary research in voice sciences through an extensive international collaboration.

Horizon MSCA Awarded to Phonetics and Speech Sciences Group at UZH

The Phonetics and Speech Sciences Group is proud to announce that their Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network project has been accepted with a near-perfect score. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Volker Dellwo and Elisa Pellegrino  the Voice Communication Sciences project is set to train a new generation of interdisciplinary researchers in latest approaches and technologies in voice sciences with 17 new PhD positions.
This international collaboration will involve more than 20 leading research institutions and industry partners in the field.

About MSCA Doctoral Networks

The MSCA Doctoral Networks (2023/24) aim to implement doctoral programmes through partnerships that span universities, research institutions, and businesses—including SMEs—from across Europe and beyond. These networks are designed to foster strategic international partnerships and are open to organizations from third countries.
The notification of call results for the Voice Communication Sciences project has just been released this month. The grant agreement is tentatively scheduled to be signed in July 2024, with the project expected to commence in August 2024. Through this action, the MSCA Doctoral Networks aim to:
  • Strengthen Europe's human capital base in research and innovation (R&I) by training highly-skilled doctoral candidates.
  •  Improve career attractiveness and conditions for researchers in Europe.
  • Enhance knowledge circulation and increase Europe's attractiveness as a leading research destination.
  • Foster a culture of open science, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Recruitment and Selection

 

The selection procedure for doctoral candidates will be open, transparent, and merit-based, adhering to the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. Vacancy notices will be widely advertised, including on the EURAXESS website, detailing the offered gross salary (excluding employer’s social contributions).
